Nintendo has revealed on Wednesday that the Nintendo 3DS will be released on March 27th to Canada and the United States. This is an upgrade the the Nintendo DS, which has sold nearly 150million units worldwide in the past 7 years. This "toy" of technology was first unveiled during last year's Electronic Entertainment Exposition. Aside from the normal DS functions the two-screened system delivers an adjustable 3-D effect on its upper display. This system is very unique because unlike normal 3-D technology you do not have to wear 3-D glasses to see the 3-D images! The launch price is currently going to be set at $250, making it the most expensive portable gaming system ever released. New hardware features added to this device include advanced processors capable of rendering more sophisticated graphics then the past Nintendo Handholds. Secondly they have included a new circular control nub that will provide players with a more exacting interface then the normal d-pads. Lastly they have included a motion sensor allowing the user to be able to tilt the 3DS to use your game.
My Opinion
First off I would like to start off on a more personal note. Personally, I despise 3-D technology and feel as if most people around the world do, and can find it "eye-straining". Reason being, the 3-D Glasses. Since the Nintendo 3DS allows the user to be able to see 3-D images without wearing those annoying glasses it creates a huge attraction to the product. Secondly bringing 3-D into gaming is a huge accomplishment in technology, and this will most likely start a new trend in 3-D gaming. Overall, I feel this is a wonderful device and will attract lots of children due to the 3-D effects. With this said, this device is not for me, I really enjoy 2-D effects and most likely always will. With that aside i feel that this device is incredible and will suit the needs of the target market.

First off, I disagree with your opinion stating that a lot of people around the world hate 3-D technology. If this was the case, I don't think that such a sophisticated and large company such as Nintendo would spend all the time and money trying to research such a thing if most people around the world hated it. Clearly some research would have been done to ensure that a majority of people actually like it. However, I do agree with the fact that this will bring a lot into the market and will create a lot of competition in the future, if successful. I do, also believe that it will attract a lot of children thanks to the wonderful 3-D technology. However, I disagree with your dislike of 3-D, as I would definitely buy this product if I were the right age for it. Overall, I think this product will prove successful, and a lot of people will love the 3-D technology, as a lot of people already do.
